Voluntary ecological year/ Federal Voluntary Service

Apply for the Voluntary Ecological Year or the Federal Voluntary Service at Eberswalde Zoo. Applications can be sent in writing to Ms. Kießling at the zoo at the email address m.kiessling@eberswalde.de or also at Federal voluntary service of the city of Eberswalde be submitted.

Areas of responsibility
ZooSchool:

• Supervision of zoo visitors during zoo tours (school classes, daycare children and adults)
• School class support during work assignments, project days, etc.
• Implementation of children’s birthdays
• Elaboration and implementation of zoological puzzles and games, as well as action stands
• Support in the preparation and implementation of events

Animal care area:

• Support in animal care (cleaning of the facilities, feed preparation, animal employment)
• Support with cleaning work in the entire zoo
• Design wall newspapers / display boards
• Support with gardening work
• Support in the workshop

Competencies

• Sense of responsibility and empathy towards children and animals
• Interest in animals and nature and the transfer of knowledge in the context of environmental education
• Willingness to work on weekends and on public holidays

Particularities:

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Driving license desired (for the purpose of transporting feed, etc.), but not absolutely necessary
